Nepal is the second richest country of water in the world.There is a high possibility of hydroelectricity .Nepal has the capacity of producing 83000 mega watt eletricity.Economically Nepal is capable of producing about 44000 mega watt of electricity.Mainly the rivers of Nepal can be divided into 3 catagories.
1. Rivers from the himalayan range
2. rivers from the mahabharat range
3. river from the chure parbat
The river which flows from the himalayan range can be divided into 3 parts:
1. Sapta koshi
Saptakoshi lies at the Eastern part of Nepal.The rivers which mixes with sapta koshi are sun koshi, Tama koshi, dudh koshi, Arun,Likhu, tamor and indrawati.The largest river amon them is arun river.Origin of sunkoshi river is Tibet.
2.Sapta gandaki
Sapta gandaki lies at the mid-western part of Nepal.The rivers which mixes with sapta gandaki are Kaligandaki,Buddhi gandaki,trisuli,Marsyandgi,seti, madhi and daraudi.Kaligandaki is the largest river among them.
3.Karnali
Karnali river lies at the far-weatern part of nepal.The river which mixes with karnali river are Humla karnali,mugu karnali ,thuli bheri ,sano bheri ,tila,seti and buddhi ganga.Karnali is the longest river of Nepal.
River which flows from mahabharat range are mechi, mahakali, rapti,bagmati etc.
